Isn't it wonderful (and wonderful at the same time) that by dividing a square pack of clay into rolls, slices, or tufts and then rearranging them, a human figure can be created? Being constantly amazed by what emerges from matter is what makes working with clay so much fun and fascinating!
With her realistic sculptures, Jeanne wants to 'tell' in her own way about moments of happiness, reflection, wonder and joy.
In the past she worked as a professional photographer. She learned to look at people through the eye of her camera. For Jeanne, making images is a way to capture emotions in 'three-dimensional pictures'. She calls them 'snapshots'. They are small scenes from where life is beautiful.
